Memory Lane: John’s parents Jim & Ann served Cynthiana First Prez when John was approximately 8 years old. They lived in the manse next door. I grew up in that church, my husband in the Presbyterian church in Ashland. By 1973 we were managing Harrison Hotel across the street from Cynthiana First Prez. I remember thinking Ann had her hands full with this growing, delightful family. I watched them play across the street in the fenced yard. Poor Jim was tasked with lifting this church out of a dramatic period of upheaval caused by the previous pastor. He was perfect for the job and guided this church faithfully for many years. We were so fortunate to have them as neighbors, friends and leaders. In 1975 we moved to Colorado. Twenty years later we returned to Kentucky where our 2 daughters, Lucy & Lila could now enjoy the Erwin family via Camp Burnamwood and John’s leadership. Our family celebrates the many blessings gifted by the Erwin family.
