Lucinda “Cyndi” Marie Poland, 60, died on December 12, 2024.  She was born in Danville on August 24, 1964, to the late James and Arlene Ragle.  Cyndi was a retired veteran of the United States Navy.  After retiring, she was very active in the VFW, serving as the quartermaster.  She was an avid reader.  Cyndi loved to ride her Harley and was always wearing Harley-Davidson clothes.  She loved her family, especially her grandchildren who called her “MiMi.”

Cyndi is survived by her husband of 34 years, Paul Poland, children, Stephanie Poland (Jake Stillwell), Joshua Poland (Michele Barrows), and Vyctoria Poland (Joshua Minton), grandchildren, Alexa (Lexie) Poland, Kaelyn Poland, Aiden Davenport, Brynlee Poland, Jessie Minton, Alexis Stillwell, Carly Stillwell and Hayden Burkhart, sister, Shelley Ragle, and brothers, Richard (Connie) Ragle and Mitch (Sandy) Ragle.

  1. I’m so sorry for Cyndi”s passing. A friend since elementary school and a very special lady!! I will truly miss her and all of our talks!! We both had been making plans for the days ahead! God didn’t want her to suffer anymore so she went on home to be with the Lord

  6. I had the honor of working with Cyndi at the VFW for the past 15 years or so and we all know she did an outstanding job as Quartermaster and was a dedicated officer at the post. Yes she will be missed by all. Prayers for the family and may she RIP!

  8. I had the honor of being stationed with Cyndi in Rota Spain. She taught me how to make chicken livers one night after being out in town. Barry and I still make them every now and then with fond memories of her. Barry worked closer with her, but I will never forget her. Saying a prayer for Paul and the family and sending hugs!

    • I feel extreme sadness at the loss of Cyndi. She was a consummate Navy professional, Sailor, Chief, leader, friend, devoted wife and caring Mom. You are so missed by everyone you touched during your life. Fair winds and following seas. Rest your oars, Cyndi, we have the watch.
