Tony Lloyd Finley, 87, died December 24, 2020 at his residence. Tony was born Nov. 13, 1933 in Pulaski County to Nellie Mae Nix and Lloyd Mannon Finley. He attended Cooper school in Line Creek, and later served in the US Army with a station in Germany. Tony worked for Haul It All Trailers, Jim Pyle Co., and Mathews Conveyor before retiring. Tony and Trudy are members of Willow Grove Baptist Church. Tony loved to sing, loved karaoke, and played bass for several bands over the years. He loved Herrington Lake and at one time was a partner in Sunset Lodge. In his spare time he read (often his Bible), tinkered in his garage, and watched Westerns (particularly anything with John Wayne). Tony is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Sharlene Morris Finley, and a son, Denzel W. Finley; brothers and sisters: Othniel Finley, Ruby Smith, Denver Finley, James “Buck” Finley, Lottie Godby, Nola Sowder, Ruth Goss, Mary Phyllis Finley, Garner Finley and O’Dell Finley. He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Gertrude “Trudy” Finley; sons, Tony Lloyd (Pharanda) Finley Jr. of English, Indiana and James Daniel Finley of Prospect, Ky.; daughters, Roberta Arman of Norwood, Oh., Rebecca Smith (Rob, decd) of Edgewood, Ky., Alberta “Peachy” Logan of Melbourne, Ky., Petie Thompson and Connie Smallwood, both of Junction City; his brothers and sisters, Faye Price (Doug, decd) of Stanford, Camilla (Floyd) Renner of Stanford, Novella (Keith) Anness of Burgin, Ruson (Betty) Finley, Jerry Wayne Finley and Junella Belcher, all of Junction City and Damon Finley(Judy, decd) of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Shawnda (Gordon) Mosson, Tony L. Finley III “Skeet”, Joseph (Lisa) Smith, Jonathan Smith, Jane (Alex) Smith, Charlotte Finley, Duston (Rebecca) Logan, Brandon (Megan) Logan, Natasha Logan, Alesha Logan, Clint (Brie) Curtis, Giles Glasscock and Reed Glasscock; Great-grandchildren, Gage, Paige and Mia Mosson, Madeline and Natalie Smith, Adalde and Ivan Logan, Grayson Logan, Serenitie Logan, Elijah Barnett, Waylon Curtis and Whitley Curtis. The funeral service will be at 1pm on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Stith Funeral Home, Junction City. Rev. Johnny Thompson will officiate and Rev. Jeff Finley will assist. Burial will follow at Danville Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Joseph Smith, Jonathan Smith, Clint Curtis, Reed Glasscock, Giles Glasscock, Duston Logan, Brandon Logan and Tony L. “Skeet” Finley III. Visitation will be from 11am – 1pm prior to the service on Wednesday. Memorial donations are suggested to Willow Grove Baptist Church.   5. Very good man and friend of 20 plus years…Helped me get my first house boat..Him and Trudy were always a good time..He will be missed..

  6. Tony and I hired into Matthews the same week, and did many jobs together over the years. What I remember most about Tony was the day he came by to tell me he had trusted Jesus as his savior, and how excited he was about that. I know he loved the Lord and is with Him today.
