Steven Tully

September 2, 1947 ~ January 2, 2025
Steve was born on September 2, 1947, in Maysville, Kentucky, to Preston and Lorraine Tully. He was raised and spent his entire life in Danville and attended and graduated from DHS and Eastern Kentucky University. He was preceded in death by his parents, Preston and Lorraine, his son Todd Tully, his daughter Jennifer Tully Hawkins, his brother Donald “Ducker” Tully, and his special friend Bubba Stevens.
He and his wife Janice Carey Tully were married for 54 years and were the parents of two children, a daughter Jennifer, and a son Steven Todd.
Steve was the owner and operator of Tully and Hometown Auto Parts in Danville and Liberty Kentucky. He was an avid NASCAR fan and built and rebuilt numerous antique trucks and automobiles over the years. He was very loving and dedicated to his family. He was also a very good and dedicated friend to many.
Steve served his country in the United States Army with honors was a decorated Vietnam veteran and was awarded the Bronze Star and multiple Purple Hearts.
Steve is survived by his beloved wife Janice, Granddaughter Savannah Tully, great-grandson Grayson Deaton, son-in-law Ronnie Hawkins, brother Rodger Tully, his nieces and nephews and numerous close friends, especially Vincent Vanover, who has been very helpful to Janice and family.
The funeral service will be at 1 p.m., Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at Stith Funeral Home, Junction City with visitation from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., before the service on Tuesday at the funeral home. The burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery. Please dress warmly, Steve was a comfortable, laid-back guy and would want you to be warm and comfortable.
