Steven K. Burlison. 63, of Danville, Kentucky, was born September 30, 1956 in Elkhart, Indiana. He was the son of Herschel and Margaret Burlison and died Tuesday, February 11, 2020. Steven was united in marriage on March 13, 1999 in Clewiston, Florida to Marjorie A. Meyer, who survives. Mr. B, as students, faculty, and staff knew him, retired from teaching after 30 years of dedicated service, mostly in Clewiston, Florida. Steven was active at Cornerstone Assembly of God church in Danville, Kentucky, serving as deacon. Other survivors include two sisters, Carla (Roger) Cotter of Burkesville, Kentucky and Jonetta Johnson of Cordon, Indiana along with eight nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by both parents and a sister, Beverly. We have lost a precious husband, brother, uncle, nephew, and cherished friend who will be greatly missed. Faith in Jesus Christ is what took him through this life’s journey. Now he sees face to face, the Promised One in whom he believed and trusted throughout his teen and adult years. Steven is home. Visitation will be 4pm - 6pm Friday, February 14, 2020 at Stith Funeral Home in Danville and 12pm – 1pm Saturday, February 15, 2020, prior to service at the church. Funeral service will be 1pm Saturday, February 15, 2020 at Cornerstone Assembly of God with Rev. Tom Lane. Memorial donations may be made to Cornerstone Assembly of God. Visitation: 4pm - 6pm Friday, February 14, 2020 at Stith Funeral Home in Danville & 12pm – 1pm Saturday, February 15, 2020, prior to service at the church Funeral service: 1pm Saturday, February 15, 2020 at Cornerstone Assembly of God

  3. What a great picture of Steven. Our hearts go out to Margie and Steven\’s family in this time of loss. We\’ve only known Steven since he and Margie moved to Kentucky, but he left a large hole in our hearts. Steven\’s love for God was evident in the way he treated his wife and everyone he met. We did Life Group together for over a year, and it was obvious that Steven was intensely familiar with the word of God. He was such a wonderful testimony of God\’s love. We will miss him at church, but we know he is now seeing his Savior face to face free of all pain and discomforts. We continue to pray for Margie as she adjusts to life without her loving husband at her side.

  4. Steven was a soft spoken and kind man, though I\’d known him less than a year, he was always friendly to everyone and such a man of grace. My deepest condolences to Margie and his family. Well done thy good and faithful servant.

  7. Mr. B was so much more than a teacher to so many of us. He was my first grade teacher at Calvary Christian School in Elkhart, IN in 1986-87 and later the principal of the same school while I was there. He was fun, patient, creative and He gave us many priceless memories to grow up with. He had pizza parties and nature walks and even attempted taking a bunch of us to Sam’s Wholesale Club and letting us ride on the big carts. We laughed all the time and he made each of us feel special for who we are-things we’ll never forget. Mr. B was a gift to us. A very special blessing from the Lord. I am so sorry for your loss and so grateful that we’ll see him in eternity with the Lord.

  9. my condolences to Margie and to Steve’s family he will be greatly missed met Steve in the mid 70’s his love for God was unshakeable but he had his mischievous side always up for a practical joke in his younger years but we all knew his love for God Steve you will be forever missed RIP

  10. Sorry to here of his passing. We were neighbors way back, when we were in school and he lived in Elkhart/ Dunlap. I have often wondered where he was and what he was doing.

  12. Steve was always a soft spoken man. We worked with him at Kmart and enjoyed his positive outlook on life and his kindness to us. He even came to our wedding. Prayers for his wife and family. R.I.P. Steve.

  13. Mr. Burlison will be forevered remembered here in Hendry County, and especially at Central Elementary, for his loving heart, calling to help children, and his kind spirit. Students will remember him as the teacher who cared and always went the extra mile for them. Teachers will remeber how he was always a trusted friend, even a big brother to some. Our lives are better for having the opportunity to work with and know Mr. Burlison. He has touched the lives of all that knew him.
