Richard L. “Bubba” Stevens, a beloved member of the Danville community, passed away on August 13, 2024, in Danville, Kentucky. He was born in Danville on October 24, 1951, to the late John and Josephine Stevens. Ricky delivered for Burke’s Bakery, he also worked and was a fixture at Hometown Auto Parts where his presence was enjoyed by all.

Bubba was known for his involvement in the Optimist Club, where he proudly served as the Grill Master a position he also handled for the radio station at their cookouts. He was an avid and exceptional bowler. An individual who never hesitated to strike up a conversation, Bubba was known for his friendly demeanor and welcoming personality.

Bubba leaves behind his brother, John Stevens, his friends Steve (Janice) Tully, and their girls the late Jennifer Tully Hawkins, Savannah Tully, Pam Jackson, and Baker Williams.

In honor of his life, a Funeral Service will be held at 1 pm, Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at Stith Funeral Home, Danville with a Visitation preceding the service at 11 am., Tuesday. Following the service, burial will be with his parents in Double Springs Cemetery, Waynesburg, Kentucky.

Bubba will be remembered for his kindness and unwavering dedication to his friends. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace.

  1. Bubba was a wonderful friend we were in the optimist club together and could fix a ribeye just the way you wanted it. He had many great friends that I met over the years in our club. He can now rest in peace.
