Richard Brian Elder, passed away on August 5, 2024, at the age of 54. He was born  September 25, 1969, to Eva Silvers Elder Devers and the late Richard Dale Elder. Along with his father, he is preceded in death by his aunt Gervis Belcher, uncles Donald Silvers, and Denver Silvers, and his father-in-law Billy Pike.

He was a beloved member of his family, known for his passion for dirt track racing at Ponderosa and regional tracks. Brian had a contagious smile, a talent for making people laugh, and a deep love for his family and his Harley motorcycle.

He is survived by his mother, Eva Devers, his wife Melissa Elder, his daughter, Ashley Rene Elder, his brother Bradley Dean (Jennifer) Elder, his mother-in-law Diane Pike, aunts Arlene Hatchett, Nancy Belcher, Sue Ann Scrogham, his uncle Sammy Belcher, nieces Hannah Nicole Elder, Bradley Elder, several cousins and extended family.

The funeral service will be at 3 p.m., Saturday, August 10, 2024, at Stith Funeral Home in Junction City with Rev. Jeff Finley officiating. Visitation will be from 1 – 3 p.m. prior to the service. Richard will be laid to rest in Wilson-Fairview Cemetery with his father.

Brian’s spirit and love will forever live on in the hearts of those he touched during his time on this earth. May he rest in peace.
