Reed Dievert

September 9, 1971 ~ July 31, 2024
Kenton Reed Dievert, 52 of Lexington died July 31, 2024, surrounded by his family, a beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend. Reed, born on September 9, 1971, in Danville, KY, to Tim and Margie Hundley Dievert, dedicated his life to his family and his career to the food service industry.
While studying at the University of Kentucky (UK) and working at the same restaurant, Reed and Rhonda met and have made Lexington their home ever since. After over 20 years in the restaurant industry with O’Charley’s in Lexington, which also expanded to his hometown of Danville, he joined Fayette County Public Schools Food Services in 2018 as a cafeteria manager bringing his hard work, passion, and expertise to the school district. He has served as the cafeteria manager at Leestown Middle School in Lexington since 2018. His warm demeanor and love of cooking endeared him to all who knew him. He passed along his passion for cooking that he got from his own mother to his two sons.
Reed, a man of few words but whose actions spoke volumes, cherished his time outdoors, especially camping, fishing, and gardening. He served as the Quartermaster Scout Leader of Troop #41 in Lexington, KY, which supported his adult son in becoming an Eagle Scout. A proud supporter of University of Kentucky sports, he cheered on The UK basketball and football teams with intense loyalty, which dates back to his college years playing for the UK Band. He was dedicated to his current church for over two decades.
He is survived by his loving wife, Rhonda Dievert, and his two sons, Logan and Hunter Dievert, as well as his parents Tim and Margie Dievert, sisters Niesje (Adam) Langston and Brooke (Paul) Winderl, and his nieces Anna Langston, Clara Winderl, nephew Will Langston and numerous extended family members.

Mary and I are so saddened to hear of Reeds passing. Our sympathy and love goes out to each of the family. He and Charlotte were about the same age and in the youth group at church which gives us fond memories. Reed was also in my Sunday School Class and I enjoyed his presence. Very happy to hear of his Scouting experience with his son. This will forever be good memories from my perspective. We plan on being there Friday and hope to see you. In the meantime, we will keep all of the family in our prayers, and remember the good times with Reed.
