Patricia Bush Mallard, 79, of Danville, died October 8, 2025. She was born on January 16, 1946, in Pineville, KY to Elmer & Myrtle Bush. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister Gretchen Bush Vanaman and nephew Steven Biles.

Affectionally known as “Aunt Pat” to her family and their friends for whom she always had a hug. Pat devoted many years to teaching and nurturing young minds with patience and encouragement. Known for her warmth and compassion, she touched the hearts of those around her inspiring a love of knowledge that will continue to resonate with her family and friends. Pat attended Western Kentucky University, where she earned her Master’s degree in Art Education. Pat was an avid reader, had a wonderfully dry wit and was a creative artist.

Pat is survived by her sister Janie Pass (Edward “Butch’ Pass) her brother, Lt. Col. Charles Robert Snavely. Her nieces and nephews Mary Bob Gaulding, Gene Snavely, Scott Snavely, Brad Snavely, Maripat Biles, Van Pass, Hunter Pass & Cooper Pass, as well as a number of great nieces & nephews.

Visitation is from 2 – 4 pm on Saturday, October 25th, 2025, at Stith Funeral Home followed by a memorial service at 4:00 pm to celebrate her life and legacy. Honorary pallbearers will be Terri Carter and Wesley Abshire.

Memorial donations may be made to the Danville-Boyle County Humane Society.

  2. I’m so sorry to hear about Pat’s passing. I vividly remember Pat when I was a child as she would come and visit with Uncle Elmer and Aunt Myrtle, my Grandmother, Ada Lee Bush-Smith and my Grandfather, Joe C. Smith at their family farm in Western Kentucky where we lived. She was such a breath of fresh air and such a beautiful person, inside and out. I love you all! Kim Smith-Gilbert.
