Mary Edith Gustafson Wilkirson, 69, of Lexington died February 20, 2018. She was born November 4, 1948 in Danville to the late Edwin and Betty Burnett Toombs and Malcolm and Mary Sims, she was a homemaker and Operations Officer at Bank of Lexington.  A 1966  graduate of Danville High School, devoted member of Antioch Christian Church,  she loves quilting, crocheting, and an avid cooker of onion sandwiches. Mary Edith was a mother to everyone she knew, a caregiver for her parents, mother in law, and brother. She is survived by her husband Don Wilkirson of Lexington, two sons Robert L. (Joanna) Wilkirson  and Steven E. (Kim) Wilkirson both of Lexington, two brothers Carl E.Gustafson of Louisville, Eddie L. (Linda) Gustafson “Gus” of Danville and a Sister-In-Law Ana Gustafson of Maryland, two grandchildren Ashley Megan Wilkirson and Madison Nicole Wilkirson Funeral service will be 1 p.m., Friday, February 23, 2018 at Stith Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Mallory officiating. Visitation will be 10am – 1pm, Friday at Stith Funeral Home. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery. Memorial donations are suggested to Antioch Christian Church or Hospice of your choice.   3. Dear Don and Family, we were so sorry to hear of Mary\’s passing. She was a dear friend and a wonderful neighbor. Truly a one of a kind lady. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

  4. I was surprised to hear of her passing. You will all forever have your own memories of her. I only met Mary a year ago and saw her but a few times. I remember her sweet voice. Please accept my condolences.

  5. Mary always made everyone feel so special with her kind and caring nature. I was blessed by having her as a part of my life, and I will miss her so much.

  6. I went to grade school and High School with Mary Edith I remember her to be fun to be with and she was a sweet, kind person. Prayer for her family.
