  1. A gift and blessing to the community of Boyle County and Danville and beyond. She touched soooo many people’s lives. Giving, caring, concerned, involved, in action for the community and its peoples. She and John were a team in fulfilling their giving to the community. She rests in peace with the love of her life John. I had the pleasure of phone conversations with Mrs. Kirby the last few years of her life. It was no longer student to home economics and FHA from teacher. It was listening to soul to soul journeys on planet earth. Listening as she shared her “mission fulfilled”. Her incredible love for her students. Her love for sports. Her love for decorating for EVERY season. She so wanted beautiful purple fabric to drap the cross at Easter. She had given to so many people during her life I was determined to send to her royal purple fabric to drap her Easter cross. Still contributing and giving to people at 91 and 92. What a gal! Job very well done. Mission completed. She rests in God’s greatest peace. Thank you Mrs. Kirby.

  2. She touched many lives and taught us many useful things. They don’t have teachers like her today. Her & mr. Kirby touched so many. I know she missed him terribly. They are together again. She will be missed, but now she’s gone home.

  3. Marianne was a force! She was a second mother to so many of us during very formative years and John always supported her love of working with the BCHS cheerleaders, he showed unbelievable patience as he drove us all over the state of Kentucky. I’m glad they are together again. It is difficult to explain the love and admiration I had for her but I can tell you I loved her unconditionally as I know that she loved me. I hope she has her street of gold lined with cheerleaders celebrating her arrival in heaven.
