Margaret Weeks McKay, 79, died on April 28, 2024. She was born on May 22, 1944, in Rochester, New York, to the late James Clarence and Sarah Margaret Weeks. Margaret was an United States Air Force veteran where she achieved the rank of Major. She received an BA in English from Berea College and a BS in nursing from Eastern Kentucky University. Margaret worked as a registered nurse at both Saint Joseph Hospital and Ephraim McDowell Hospital. Margaret enjoyed knitting, crocheting, tatting, embroidering, sewing and gardening. While at Berea College she was a member of the the Country Dancers where she got the opportunity to dance at The White House for President Kennedy. Margaret was a Kentucky Colonel. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her sister Merle Carol Hoops.
Margaret is survived by her son Sean McKay, daughter Heather Vogel, and grandchildren; Joey, Jonathan, Brendan, and Katie Vogel.
