Karen Logsdon Phillips passed away on June 26, 2025, at the age of 74. Born on March 18, 1951, in Cave City, Kentucky, to the late Edmond T. and Elizabeth Logsdon. Karen lived a life dedicated to her family and her passions. She graced the world with her warmth and curiosity.

A devoted mother, Karen was known for her deep care for those around her. Her inquisitive nature led her on fascinating journeys through genealogy, where she uncovered the rich histories of her ancestors. This passion not only connected her to her roots but also inspired her to share the stories of those who came before her with her family.

In addition to her genealogical pursuits, Karen had a profound appreciation for the great outdoors and the history encapsulated within America’s National Parks. She was actively involved in raising funds to support the Mammoth Cave carriage fund, demonstrating her commitment to preserving these natural treasures for future generations.

Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. She was a dear friend of many years, and just a wonderful neighbor! She’d help anyone if they were sincere! Karen will be dearly missed!

  2. RIP Karen we all had a lot of good times over the years. Just amazed at how fast the time actually goes by.

  3. I know you are now a beautiful angel and back with Wayne. You are truly missed by so many of us my sweet friend 🕊️🙏

  4. Karen was my first cousin, her mother and my father, sister and brother. Karen being only 4 months older than me, we played together a lot growing up when our families got together, always special times. We really had a lot of good times together. Karen was always a lot of fun to be around. She will be missed.

  5. My beloved Aunt Karen has always been treasured by me. She always made me feel especially loved by her and I loved getting to spend time with her and just talk for hours. My favorite memory of her is being together at the Hernando Beach house and sitting on the back deck watching the ocean and just talking about life. She really knew how to make me laugh and laughter is so good for the soul. I wish I could get more of those moments back, just one more time, but I guess it will have to wait until I see her in heaven. And there are endless beaches there. My heart just fills with joy when I think about her being together again with her husband, Wayne, and my nanny and dadd-o And her two brothers that loved her so much and of course her son, Nathan. Kinda makes me homesick for heaven.
I always admired her for how she brought people together and through all the genealogy studying she did, she connected family that may never have ever known each other and put on those huge family reunions at Mammoth Park. Living in Florida, it was so hard for us to get up there Because of work and small children. But now it makes me wish I would’ve tried harder to get there, but I’ll be thankful for the memories I have of the reunions I was able to be at.
She was so special and loving and always had a hug and a laugh waiting for you. I feel very privileged to have been her niece and she always called me Bethy -boo. Which made me feel very special to have my own nickname from her. I love her dearly and will miss her every day until we meet again in heaven. Thank you, Lord Jesus for the time that we had on earth together and the great memories, heavenly father, you have brought home Such a beautiful angel, and this world will not be the same without her.

  9. Karen and I met through our ancestry. We both came through the Logsdon family. She shared so much of her time and work of ancestry with me. I was able to learn so much of our family line.
