Joan R. Lane

Joan (JoAnn) R. Lane, 81, died Saturday, November 24, 2018. She was born December 20, 1936 in Danville, Ky to the late William E., Sr. and Ebbie Gilliam Rankin. She was a retired seamstress from Palm Beach. Joan loved cooking, sewing, fishing and camping. She enjoyed working in her flower garden. Joan loved her family. She was a member of Willow Grove Church. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a son, Gary Wayne Lane and a brother, William E. Rankin Jr. She is survived by her husband, of 63 years, James Milton Lane of Danville; two sons, Michael Joe (Laura Lamb) Lane of Harrodsburg and Larry Nelson (Linda Ward) Lane of Lexington; a brother, Robert Rankin of Danville; a sister-in-law, Ruth Rankin of Danville and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be 11 a.m., Thursday, November 29, 2018 at Stith Funeral Home in Danville. Bro. Jerry Browning and Bro. John Thompson will officiate. Burial be in Camp Nelson Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 p.m. – 7 p.m., Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at Stith Funeral Home in Danville.
