Jeff S. Pittman

June 27, 1962 ~ April 11, 2025
Jeffrey Scott Pittman, 62, passed peacefully on April 11, 2025, in his home. Jeff was born on June 27, 1962, in Parksville, Kentucky, to Gloria Jean Abbott Pittman and the late Carroll Thomas “Tommy” Pittman.
Jeff graduated from Danville High School in 1980 and never lost his Admiral pride. A true fan through and through, he bled blue for both the Danville Admirals and the University of Kentucky Wildcats. Whether he was in the stands or at his favorite spot at Old Bridge with a Natty Light in hand, rubbing his forehead during a close play and hollering a “C-A-T-S” chant, cheering on his teams was one of his greatest joys.
Jeff took after his mother, Gloria, with his fantastic work ethic and customer service skills. He devoted his professional life as a Sales Representative in the trucking industry, where he took great pride in serving his clients and his team. He was looking forward to retirement from his role at Old Dominion.
Jeff had a rare and beautiful gift for making people feel deeply loved. He never met a stranger, and once you knew him, you felt like family. He had a rare capacity for love—genuine, generous, and freely given. He was known for saying, “You know I love you, right?”—and you knew without a doubt that he meant it. His love was wholehearted and unconditional. The depth of his connection with others was one of the greatest gifts he gave to this world.
Jeff’s greatest love in life was his daughter, Molly. She was his best friend and the light of his world. Their bond was filled with laughter, adventure, and unwavering love. Jeff was an extraordinary father—steadfast, supportive, and endlessly proud.
In 2017, Jeff met his soulmate, Liz Erwin, and from that moment on, they built a beautiful life together—one filled with laughter, love, and unforgettable adventures. Whether they were traveling to Jeff’s favorite beaches or wandering the streets of Italy, they soaked up every moment with joy and gratitude. Jeff embraced Liz’s children, Emma and Jack, as his own, loving them deeply and taking immense pride in the incredible young adults they’ve become. He brought so much fun into their lives, but also the steady hand and structure that held everything together. Jeff was the planner, the protector, the one who made sure every detail was handled—always. His way of tying a bow on any plan was simple and reassuring: “It’s settled.” And with Jeff, it always was.
Everyone who knew Jeff Pittman has a story—usually one filled with laughter, joy, and a little harmless mischief. He lived life full-throttle, creating unforgettable moments wherever he went. Jeff had a magnetic spirit and a bright energy that drew people in. He lit up every room, made everything more fun, and never passed up a chance to turn a moment into a memory. To know Jeff was to be swept up in his whirlwind of energy, heart, and humor. He didn’t just live life—he made it a party, and we were all lucky to be invited.
He is survived by his soulmate, Liz Goodwin Erwin, and her children, Emma and Jack; his mother, Gloria Pittman; his daughter, Molly Pittman (Casey Maupin); his sister, Karen (Donny) Dampier; his grandson, Emmett Maupin; his uncle, Mike (Alycea) Pittman; nieces and nephews; and more friends than can be counted.
In keeping with Jeff’s wishes, we will host a Party at Morley’s Backyard on Monday, April 14th, from 4-9 pm. This is how he wished to be honored. We are looking forward to coming together to celebrate the extraordinary life he led.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Molly’s dog rescue, Fields of Freedom, www.fofdogrescue.com, in his memory, reflecting the generosity and kindness that Jeff embodied throughout his life.
He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Thinking of all of his friends and family. This is such a loss of one of the good guys! His kindness and generosity will always be remembered by us. May light shine eternal upon him.
My heart goes out to his family and many friends. I saw him last night at old Bridge. I’m glad I got to smile and shake his hand one last time. Mark Cassidy
