James Howard ‘Jimmy” Cook, 64, died February 19, 2024. Born on October 10, 1959, in Danville, KY, to the late Paul & Virginia Cook, Sr. He is preceded in death by his son William Howard Cook and his brothers Paul Dennis Cook, Jr., Charles “Chuck” Hilbert, and William “Billy” Hilbert.

Jimmy worked as a bulb operator and the warehouse for Phillips Lighting. His dedication to his work and his passion for providing for his loved ones were unparalleled. He was straightforward and known as “leader of the outfit” a firm but loving husband, Dad, and granddad. Jimmy enjoyed fishing and hunting, but mostly being with his family.

He was a loving husband to Brenda L.  Cook for almost 45 years and a devoted father to his three daughters, Rebecca (Brandon) Douglas, Sarah (Randy) Wofford, and Amy (Brandon) Cook. James cherished spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, Trinity (Manning Belcher) Bradshaw, Daniel (Hope) Bradshaw, Kaden Douglas, Kennon Douglas, Lucian Wofford, Tesa (Seth Pike) Wofford, Leah Griffith, Michael Griffith, Tyler Griffith, Joyrdan Griffith, Trevor Griffith, Tiana Griffith, Trae Griffith, and Kashton Cook, his great-grandchildren Linkin Belcher, Rylee Bradshaw, Oakley Pike, and Emerson Pike, his sister Carroll Cox and his beloved dog Ralph.

Funeral services will be at 12:30 p.m., Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at Stith Funeral Home, Junction City.  Pallbearers will be Lucian Wofford, Brandon Douglas, Manning Belcher, Daniel Bradshaw, Kennan Douglas, and Kaden Douglas. The burial will be in Danville Memorial Gardens.
