James Everett “Bo” Hunt Sr., 72, of Stanford, Kentucky, passed away on April 21, 2025, at his home. Born on October 16, 1952, in Danville, Kentucky, to the late Jessie and Francis Hunt. James was a devoted son, father, grandfather, and friend who impacted the lives of those around him with his hardworking spirit and loving nature.

He worked for many years at Pinkston Oil Company in all areas of maintenance and repairing gas pumps. Known for his unwavering work ethic, he valued the fruits of his labor and instilled that same sense of responsibility in his loved ones.

James was passionate about yard work and gardening, often spending his weekends tending to his beloved garden. His connection with nature brought him immense joy, and he took pride in the beauty he created around his home. James was also an avid dog lover, and his cherished furry companions were an integral part of his life.

He is survived by his sons, James (Nikki) Hunt, Jr., Kevin Hunt, his step-daughter Elizabeth Hellard, his grandchildren Kaitlyn Hunt, Dalton Hunt, and Jansen Dunham, his great-grandchildren Kohen Hunt, Jalee Dunham, and Zayne Hatter, his siblings Richard Hunt and Patricia (Vernon) Coffman, and many extended family members. James will be remembered fondly by his family and friends for his kindness, dedication, and the warmth he brought into every life he touched.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Friday, April 25, 2025, at Stith Funeral Home in Danville, with Rev. Curtis Brock officiating. Visitation will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 1:00 pm. Pallbearers will be Steve Hines, Freddy Carman, Frankie Durham, Anthony Cornelius, Tony Tillet,  Rick Tillet, and Jansen Dunham. The burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery.
