  1. I am so very sorry to hear of Jack’s passing. It seems I’ve known him my entire life and feeling the loss of such a wonderful man, classmate and friend leaves a real sadness in my heart. He will be missed by so many whose lives he touched throughout the years, and will surely be remembered and cherished by all who loved and respected him.

  2. Jack was such a sweet man. I met him through working at Dr. Spoonamore’s office as he was a patient of ours. Was always so nice to me when he came in the office. Sincere sympathy to Jack’s family and friends. Sending sincere prayers. 🙏

  4. Very sad to hear this.
Jack was indeed a colorful member of the DHS Class of ‘68.
I remember how much he enjoyed Keeneland.
His personality & voice was truly memorable.

  5. I’m so sorry to hear about Jack. He was a friend and one of our most notable classmates of ‘68 and will be greatly missed.

  6. I am a sorry to hear this. Much Love and condolences to all the family. He was such a wonderful person. He was a great friend to my father Norris Armstrong. He did many things for my dad along with being his landlord. I am so sorry to hear this.

  7. A wonderful man that I had the privilege to meet through my Father-in-law ((JT Goggans). Heaven had certainly gained an Angel!

  8. I knew Jack as a neighbor, and what a great neighbor. First time I met him I was with my blind, 120 lb dog who approached Jack like a long lost friend and inhaled his boots. Jack stood there patiently and smiled, and I told him he must be a real animal lover. Jack said I had no idea – Great sense of humor, distinctive voice. He was “farmer Jack” to me after I found out where those boots had been. Jack always had a cheery wave from his truck, on his tours around the cemetery to make sure all was well. I would find him scraping the ice off a neighbor’s windshield, or helping otherwise vulnerable neighbors in a myriad of ways. He seemed to me to have a heart of gold. I will miss him.

  9. Jack added so much humor to the DHS CLASS of 1068
    What a wonderful man!
His love of Keeneland was contagious.
When he came to school in the spring dressed up ,we knew he was headed for the track

  10. I am so sorry to hear of Jack’s death. He will be missed by many of us that grew
up with Jack and his sister Lucy, (who was closer to my age). Such a gentleman
farmer with a great sense of humor and a slow and easy manner; everyone knew and loved Jack. He will be greatly missed!
Prayers for his family and his sister Lucy.
