Hunter Scott Miller, 24, died suddenly on July 25, 2024, at the age of 24. He was born on April 4, 2000, to Ann R. Miller and the late L. Grant Miller in Frankfort, KY, Hunter was predeceased by his father and his grandparents Sharon & Bill Carmen, Robert Miller, and Faye & Doug Sudduth.

A 2018 Mercer County High School graduate, Hunter was known for his friendly nature, infectious laughter, and love of hunting, fishing, and kayaking. He loved his job as a Correctional Officer at Northpoint Training Center and enjoyed the moments spent with his friends, bringing laughter to all who knew him.

Hunter is survived by his mother Ann Miller (Billy Whalin), sister Victoria Miller, stepmother Heather Cocanougher, stepfamily who loved him as their own, and many co-workers and friends. His memory will forever be treasured by those who knew and loved him.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, August 1, 2024, at The Showroom, Lebanon Road with Chaplain Tommy Blackwell officiating. Visitation will be from 4 – 6 p.m., Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at The Showroom. Bryce Hatchel, Miles Coffman, Caleb Morrison, Jacob Newsome, Aidan Brown, and Carter Elliott will be pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be his unit at Northpoint Training Center.

Please join us in remembering and celebrating Hunter’s life, his laughter, and the happiness he brought to all who knew him. May he rest in eternal peace.

  1. We hadn’t seen Hunter since he was very young and his grandmother Sharon Carman would bring Hunter and Victoria to our Christmas gathering of the Woods Family. We saw Victoria and Heather her stepmother when Grant passed away but I don’t recall seeing Hunter. We are praying for his mother and sister, Heather and his co workers, especially those who experienced this shocking event. He was our great great nephew on Joes side of the family. We are so sorry and very sad.

    • H. Miller was a great kid to be around and is gonw so soon. When I would see him at North point he always has his joking personality and his professional personality and did what took to get the job done. Hunter RIP BROTHER. WE GOT THE WATCH FROM HERE.

  19. We are so sorry for the loss of Hunter. We did not know Hunter but our son, Jordan, worked with him at North Point. We’re keeping his family, friends and North Point family in our thoughts and prayers!

  20. I remember Hunter from a very young age as he was a part of the group of friends my son Miles hung around with in grade school. I watched him play middle school football and grow to become the fine young man he was. He and Miles would often come to our house and shoot guns. Hunter was an excellent marksman and took great pride in his abilities. We are deeply saddened by this tragic outcome. We will always remember him with his infectious smile and heart. May you rest in peace young warrior!

  25. One of the best “older brothers” I had growing up. From all the memories at the football and baseball fields, to high school, to our “grown up jobs” you never forgot about me. So glad I got to see you one last time here at the hospital and got to help you because you were lost. I’ll always remember you and everything you did for me as the teams little sister! 🤍
