September 23, 1940 ~ February 26, 2026

Harold Davis Lanham, 85, of Harrodsburg, beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 26, 2026. He was born on September 23, 1940, in Gravel Switch, Kentucky, to the late Hugh and Nora Lanham. Harold dedicated his life to his family, profession, and passion for running. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters, and his beloved wife of 57 years Marline Whitehouse Lanham.
Harold was a devoted member of Carpenter’s Christian Church, known for his unwavering faith and deep commitment to those he loved. After earning his bachelor’s degree in accounting, he built a distinguished career as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), becoming the first Personal Financial Specialist in the area. He later expanded his professional pursuits into real estate alongside his wife, Marline.

Harold was a man of many accomplishments; his passions extended far beyond his career. He was an avid runner who proudly completed the Boston Marathon and the Ironman, alongside a vast running community he loved dearly. He was also a proud dairy farmer in his early years. Through it all, aviation remained one of his greatest interests, and he cherished his time as a licensed pilot.

Harold is survived by his children, Shawn D. (Rebecca) Lanham, Heather D. (John Chris Howard) Lanham-Howard and Angela D. (David) Osbourn; sister, Carol (Sidney) Gordon; and his cherished grandchildren: Hope Lanham, Henry Lanham, J.C. Howard, Ashley Howard, Abigail Osbourn, and Jase Osbourn. His family expresses great appreciation to Angie Compton for her years of friendship and dedicated care to the Lanham family. Alongside many friends and family Harold truly loved his running group and running community that he counted as family. Special gratitude is extended to the Heritage Hospice nurses Rebecca Stanley, RN, Caren Reed, RN, Andre Geralds, RN and Erica Wilson, LPN for the care and comfort.

Harold D. Lanham will be deeply missed but forever cherished in the hearts of all who knew him. Harold will always be remembered for his kindness, wisdom, and the joy he brought into their lives.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Harold’s honor to Heritage Hospice Inc. 120 Enterprise Drive Danville KY 40422 or the Griffin Baker Memorial Scholarship Fund c/o Whitaker Bank.
