Gerald L. Merriman Sr., 78, of Junction City, died Monday, September 11, 2017. He was born in Junction on September 17, 1938, son of the late Mitchell and Ethel Lena Bunch Merriman. He served in the United States Army in 1956 until 1959. Gerald owned and operated several restaurants and worked in the maintenance department at Boyle County High School and Miami of Ohio. He volunteered for the Veterans Day dinner every year. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his wife, Linda Merriman; a daughter, Candace Warren; a brother Ronald Merriman; and two grandchildren, Margaret Joyce, and Kristie Wilkerson.
He is survived by three sons, Gerald L. (Victoria) Merriman of Oak Forrest, Illinois, Gregory Lee (Denise) Merriman of Quartzsite, Arizona, Daniel (Trisha) Jacobsen of Franklin, Ohio; four daughters, Teresa (John) Jozefowicz of Oak Lawn, Illinois, Cynthia (Gregory) Smith of Dowagiac, Michigan, Mary (Gerald) Joyce of Chicago Ridge, Illinois, Jean (Scott) Hardwick of Hamilton, Ohio; three brothers, Mitchell Wayne Merriman of Pontiac, Illinois, Larry (Jean) Merriman of Hartsville, South Carolina, Jerry (Sharon) Merriman of Crossville, Tennessee; three sisters, Karen (Wally) Brewer of W. Elkton, Ohio, Sharon Taulbee of W. Alexandria, Ohio, Phyllis (David) Huff of Camden, Ohio; eighteen grandchildren, and fourteen great grandchildren.
Burial will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, September 16, 2017, Fairmound Cemetery in W. Elkton, Ohio.
