Gary Elmer Wiley, 78, died Friday, July 24th, 2020. Gary was born at home in Harrodsburg, Kentucky on February 22, 1942, son of Rachel Ada Walters and Delbert Wiley. Gary grew up in Burgin with his mother, the late Rachel Ada Walters Allender and the late Charles E. Allender. Following high school he founded and owned his company, Wiley Electrical Contractors, LLC, Danville and Junction City. Gary started the business 50+ years ago and watched it grow into a respected business by property owners and builders alike. He trained and proudly passed the business to his son, Christian Charles Wiley. Gary retired as a Master Electrician and was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.
Honoring his memory are his children, Anita (Joseph) Butler, Dane (Dawn) Wiley, Laura Elizabeth Wiley, Toni Wiley and Christian (Dreamia) Wiley; his grandchildren, Colton Townsend, Caleb Townsend, Laura Ann Wiley and Baron Wiley; his sister, Glenda (David) Blevins; a niece Amy (John) Blevins-Morgan; a great nephew Brady Morgan and lovingly remembered by his Uncle and Aunt, Delbert and Bettie Walters and their families.
A memorial service will be held on a later date. Memorial donations are suggested to the Danville-Boyle County Humane Society.
