Franklin Floyd Jarvis, 88, died on April 30, 2025.  He was born on January 29, 1937, to the late Floyd and Lucy Sparks Jarvis in Olive Hill, Kentucky.  Franklin was a graduate of the University of Kentucky College of Engineering with a degree in electrical engineering.  After graduating in 1958 he served 2 years in the United States Navy.  When discharged he was employed as an engineer for Magnavox in Fort Wayne, Indiana.  He and his wife decided to return to Kentucky and was employed with Kentucky Utilities Company in Danville for 28 years.  Upon retirement he enjoyed time on his farm.  Gardening brought him great joy.  He was a member of the United Church of God in London, Kentucky.  In addition to his parents Franklin was predeceased by his sisters, Virginia Lu Burns, Helen Jeanie Jarvis, and Margaret Ellen Jarvis.

Franklin is survived by his wife of over 62 years Martha Sue Ernst Jarvis, sister, Elizabeth Ann Kikuchi, and a brother, Michael Crawford Jarvis, nieces, Susan (Anthony) Clark and Anita Starr (Anthony) Matthews, and nephews, Ken (Paige) Kikuchi and Mark (Melonie) Jarvis.

A graveside service will be held at 1 pm on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at Olive Hill Memorial Park in Olive Hill, Kentucky.  Rev. Jonathan Grizzell will officiate.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Heritage Hospice, Inc.
