Elizabeth “Liz” Harmon, a beloved wife, passed away on March 30, 2025, at the age of 70. Born on February 13, 1955, in Versailles, Kentucky, to the late William “Bill” & Patsy Martin. Liz grew up with a love for sports that would shape her vibrant life. An avid golfer and all-around athlete, she also enjoyed playing softball and basketball, always exemplifying a spirit of competition and camaraderie. Along with her parents, she is predeceased by her brothers Mike Martin and Joe Martin and her stepson Harold Dale Harmon.

Liz earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Eastern Kentucky University and dedicated many years of her career to the golf industry as an Assistant Grounds Keeper at the Danville Country Club. Her passion for the game and commitment to her work left a lasting impact on those around her.

Liz is survived by her loving husband, Harold Harmon, his son Aaron (Heather) Rogers, grandson William Sawyer Rogers, and her cherished nephews Bo Martin and J.J. Martin. Her family and friends will remember her warmth, generosity, and the joy she brought to every moment.

A Gathering of Friends will be 12 p.m. – 1 p.m., Friday, April 4, 2025, with a Time Remembrance at 1 p.m. at Stith Funeral Home, Danville.

Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery.

In this difficult time, we invite all who knew Liz to come together to celebrate her life and the indelible impact she made on those she loved. She will be deeply missed but always remembered in the hearts of her family and friends.

  2. Harold I am so sorry to hear this! Liz was like my sister I never had!! I LOVED playing ball with her. I don’t think I’ll ever forget one time when Bill Jones made the comment that it was like having one mind over there at shortstop(Liz) and third(me)!! We had so many good memories and good times between softball basketball and bowling!!! I LOVED her dearly!!
