Elizabeth “Betty” Ann McGrath, 88, of Danville, died on June 8, 2025. Born on August 7, 1936, in Hamilton, Ohio, to the late Louis and Rose Lay Fritsch. Betty was a proud graduate of Notre Dame High School, class of 1955. She was predeceased by her beloved husband James “Jim” McGrath, her son Gregory Louis McGrath, her grandsons Joshua McGrath, Dalton McGrath, and Gregory McGrath, Jr., and her siblings Donald Fritsch, Thomas Fritsch, Frank Fritsch, and Marcia Melton.

She moved to Danville, Kentucky, where she became a cherished member of Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church in 1971.

Elizabeth dedicated her professional life to working in custodial and housekeeping services at Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill. She loved the people she worked with and seeing a job completed. Her commitment to service and her warm personality made her a valued employee and friend to many.

She is survived by her two loving sons, Michael James (Lisa) McGrath and Gary William McGrath, her grandchildren Jason McGrath, Holly McGrath, Terri McGrath, Brad McGrath and Kari McGrath, her great grandchildren James, Izzy, Juah, Makaelynn, Anastasia, and Maddix and her brother Dr. Stephen (Maureen) Fritsch who will forever carry the memories of their devoted mother, grandmother, and sister in their hearts.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 12 p.m., on Friday, June 13, 2025, at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church with Father Danny Schwendeman. Visitation will take place from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at Stith Funeral Home in Danville. Pallbearers will be Bradley McGrath, Matthew Fritsch, Andrew Fritsch, Brian Fritsch, Derrick Brady, and the Knights of Columbus. Following the Mass, Elizabeth will be laid to rest at Bellevue Cemetery with her husband.

Betty’s unwavering spirit, kindness, and deep faith will leave a lasting legacy. She will be missed by all who had the privilege to know her.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Heart Association or the Knights of Columbus in her memory.
