Christine Hoskins

Christine Martin Hoskins, 81, passed away peacefully at home on February 6, 2025, with her family by her side. She was born in Maryland in 1943 to James H Martin and Lydia Margret (Workman) Martin.

Christine was a devoted wife to her soulmate, her husband Richard Stanly Hoskins of 60 years. She was the heart of the family and home. She raised two daughters, Terri Edwards, and Stella Hoskins Davis. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and her 15 brothers and sisters.

She and her husband were rolling stones as they never let the grass grow too tall under their feet. They were known to have at least 36 different addresses, between Ohio, Kentucky, and Florida. They both were members of Calvary Baptist Church, Danville Ky. She held a strong belief in Jesus, and showed by her devotion to her husband, daughters, family, friends, and through her generous and kind heart. She would often say that death didn’t scare her because “I know where I am going”.

Christine also had two grandchildren (both redheads) Megan Newton (Brian) Ruth, and Austin Davis, and one great-granddaughter Halee Ruth. She enjoyed spending as much time with them as she could. Family trips to the beach were one of her favorite things to do, along with family game nights and “round table” discussions over coffee and sweet treats.

Along with her immediate family, she has multiple nieces and nephews that she stayed in touch with and often opened her home to them, and if you left hungry it was your own fault.

She will be greatly missed, but we know where she is.

A “Going Home” service will be held at 6:30 pm on Friday, February 28, 2025, at Stith Funeral Home in Danville.  Visitation will be from 5 pm to 6:30 prior to the service.
