Charles Jackson Hardaway was born on June 14, 1952. Son of Gladys Jane and Julian R Hardaway in Louisville, Ky
Spent his school years in Danville. After graduating high school, he attended the
University of Louisville and Georgetown University before enlisting in the US Air Force.
After receiving an honorable discharge, Charlie spent several years traveling the US.
Charlie spent over 50 years battling schizophrenia, then developed COPD.
Charlie died peacefully in the early morning of October 21, 2024. He leaves behind
two sisters and brothers Fran(ces), Tom, Elizabeth, and Andrew
The family would like to thank the caring staff of Cambridge Place where he was a resident
for about 9 years. Charlie was also served by hospice care for over a year. Their expertise,
care and compassion brought comfort to his family.
A graveside service will be held at noon on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at Bellevue Cemetery,
the family and friends will gather at 11 am at Stith Funeral Home.
Memorial donations are suggested to your favorite charity.
