Bobby Lee Wilson Sr., 88, of Danville, died Tuesday, July 30, 2024.  Born June 12, 1936 in the coal mining town of Paradise, Kentucky. He was the son of Marcus Wilson and Beulah Belcher Wilson.  He was a heavy equipment operator in the construction business and loved bulldozing work.  Bobby loved to ride horses and go coon hunting, and enjoyed watching Westerns like Gunsmoke and Cheyenne. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth Elder Wilson, his sisters Beatrice, Dorothy, Barbara, Crystal, Charlotte, Daisy and brothers Delmar and Marcus.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Lou Horton Wilson, two sons, Bobby Wilson Jr and Wade Wilson, and his daughter Sheila Wilson; three step-daughters, Joy Dossett, Kimberly Dossett and Theresa Dossett, sisters Earnestine Gorley, Connie Overstreet, Jodie Dismuke and Ava Price; grandchildren Jennifer (Brandon) Phillips, Mark (Keshia) Wilson, Amy (Jeff) Sparks, Jason (Taneisha) Neikirk, Jamie (Chris) Blair, Michael Wilson, Bobby Lee (Crystal) Wilson III, Ethan (Kayla) Wilson, step-grandchildren Camri, Ayries, Josh, Amanda, Shelby and the late Ragan, as well as eighteen great-grandchildren and nine step-great-grandchildren.

  1. Bob, you meant the world to me and I was proud to be part of the family. You always had a smile no matter what. We have sure had some good times over the years and you left a lasting memory. I just wanted to say thanks for the memories from the family reunions to the horseshoe games at Mom and Daddys and all the things that we done together. I will miss you my buddy.
