Bernard Lee “Bernie” Vandepol III,  passed away on August 26, 2024, in Monticello, Kentucky. He was born on May 17, 1991, in Spartanburg, South Carolina, to Bernard Vandepol, II and Tracy Snyder.

A 2009 Year and Morley-Starwood High School graduate, Bernie served his country with honor and dedication in the United States Marines. His commitment to his service was unmatched, and he was respected by all who knew him. He was the first one there and the last one to leave. He wore his heart on his shoulder and would take the shirt off his back for anyone. His wife Kandis was the love of his life and his daughter K.J. was the apple of his eye.

Bernard leaves behind his loving spouse Kandis Vandepol, his cherished daughter K.J. Vandepol, his parents Bernard “Bernie” Vandepol and Tracy (Chris) Snyder, his siblings Cassidy Vandepol, Alyssa Snyder, Zack Vandepol, Jonathan Nelson, and Tyler Schaefer, his mother & father-in-law A.J. and Stephanie Flores, and a host of close friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held on September 2, 2024, at his farm in Monticello Kentucky. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends, as they celebrate his life and mourn his passing.

  6. So sorry for your loss. Bernie was a very thoughtful young man in school in which he attended and played football and wrestling. He was a very pleasant and respected man, he will be missed.
