Benny Swope

Benjamin “Benny” Thomas Swope, 79, of Lancaster, Kentucky, died February 10^th, 2023. Benny was born March 30, 1943, to the late Benjamin Hardin and Mary Thomas Bugg. He worked in carpentry and built and framed homes all around Central Kentucky. Benny loved the outdoors which included farming cattle and fishing.  He is preceded in death by his parents, and his wife Rosie. Survivors include his daughters, Lisa Swope, Dorothy DeLong, Betty Parson and Lois DeLong; brothers, Alvin (Phyllis) Swope and Bruce Swope; sisters, Peggy (the late David) Moss, Helen (Nick) Shmutte, and Janet (Mike)Anderson; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, February 16^th, 2023, at Stith Funeral Home in Danville with Jonathan Grizzell officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 15^th, 2023, from 4 p.m.-6 p.m., also at Stith Funeral Home in Danville. The burial will take place at Bellevue Cemetery.
