Wanda Montgomery

Wanda May Casey Montgomery, age 89, passed away peacefully Thursday, August 7, 2025, at her home in Danville, Kentucky.  She was born on December 4, 1935, in Boyle County, Kentucky, to Thomas Lee Casey and Mary Bell Westerfield Casey.

Wanda was a member of Parksville Christian Church.  She was a graduate of Forkland High School.  She loved to read, work puzzles, and do word search books.  Family and friends loved to eat her Quick Candy cookies and chocolate pies.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Buford Montgomery; her parents; her brothers J.T. Casey and Ancel Casey; and her sisters Thelma Girtley, Isabel Johnson, and Joanne Henry.

Wanda is survived by her three children: Carolyn, Edwin and Stephen; and her four grandchildren: Matthew, Charlotte, Casey, and Jennifer; and their spouses; and her two great-grandchildren: Gabriel and Loreli.  Also surviving are her Casey family nieces and nephews; her Montgomery family siblings, nieces and nephews; and her church family and friends.

Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Stith Funeral Home, 318 West Broadway, Danville, Kentucky. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM. Bro. Frank Preston will officiate.  Pallbearers will be:  Edwin Montgomery, Matthew Montgomery, Jim Jennings, and Reice Dooley.  Honorary pallbearers will be:  Bernard Montgomery, Greg Montgomery, Ervin Vanover, Ron Russell, Dr. Thomas Jackson, and Bobby Cash.  Burial will be at Parksville Cemetery.
