Wanda Joyce Beasley
March 12, 1949 ~ May 8, 2024
Born in:
Danville, Kentucky
Resided in:
Danville, Kentucky
Wanda P. Beasley, age 75, was called to eternal rest in the early morning on May 8, 2024 after a long illness. Wanda was born on March 12, 1949, in Danville, Kentucky, and was the daughter of the late Joseph Edward Patten and Beatrice Irvin Adams Patten. She was proceeded in death by her infant daughter, Kimberly Michelle Stewart; two brothers, John R. Patten and Kevin Patten; and a nephew, Scott Patten.
Wanda was a 1967 graduate of Danville High School. She continued her education at the Danville School of Practical Nursing and completed the LPN program. She was employed at various hospitals and nursing homes, and her last employment was with Phillips Lighting for over 10 years.
Wanda accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of St. James AME Church, in Danville, Kentucky, where she sang in the choir, served on the Steward Board, Usher Board, and was a member of the Ella P. Pryor Club.
She enjoyed reading, cooking, spending time with her family, friends, and classmates who were known as the “49ers club.” She also LOVED shopping online and was known as the “QVC and HSN Queen”. She was an avid Bengal’s fan and was also the strongest and most kind-hearted person you could ever meet.
Wanda leaves to cherish her memories, her beloved husband of 29 years, Ronnie Lloyd Beasley; her son, Christopher Harrison Patten of Danville; a granddaughter, Just’Us Blackman of Ohio; two brothers-in-law, George (Tamara) Beasley of Moreland and Johnny (Trish) Beasley of Danville; two sisters-in-law, Jural (James) Emerson of Lexington and Louisa Bates of Danville. She also leaves behind a host of other relatives, friends, and several “special friends” who became her caregivers during her time of need.
To know Wanda was to love her. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, but her memories will live on in our hearts forever!
Funeral service will be on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at 12:00 pm, at St. James AME Church in Danville. Rev. Ralph Smith will officiate. Burial will be at Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 pm to 8 pm on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at St. James AME Church in Danville. An online guestbook is available at www.stithcares.com.
