Vicki Kathryn Spears of Danville, died of a major coronary event on October 7, while swimming in the beautiful waters of Nassau, Bahamas with her husband, Jim, daughter, Megin Sharp, and Megin\'s family. Vicki was born in Mercer County to Charles and Dolores McCrystal. She graduated from Mercer County High School and spent most of her adult life working as the school secretary at Hogsett Elementary and later at both Boyle County Middle & High School. Her life was enriched by the many activities of her two children, and she contributed her time and talents to supporting them in all that they pursued. Since their retirement, Vicki and Jim have enjoyed traveling, especially cruising, and visiting interesting places. Vicki was a devoted wife and mother and embraced the role of grandmother to her eight beloved grandchildren. Vicki is survived by her two children: Derek Springate (Meg) of Fairfield OH; and Megin \"Springate\'\' Sharp (Matt) of Texas. Her grandchildren: Ella, Cannon, Evie and Caliber Sharp; Max, Annie, and Corbin Springate and Miles Henson. Vicki also had two stepchildren: Alex Spears (Rachel) of Crestwood, KY; and Mallory Sebastian (Brandon) of Danville. Mrs. McCrystal, Vicki\'s mother, continues to live in Harrodsburg and Vicki has siblings: Rick (Tracy) of Somerset; Steve (Linda) of Harrodsburg; and Lori Lawson (Marty) of Harrodsburg. Vicki has numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation for Vicki will be held at Lexington Avenue Baptist Church in Danville on Tuesday, October 24, 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. The funeral will also be held at the church on Wednesday, October 25 at 11:00 with Rev. Basil Hall officiating. Burial will be at Saint Nicholas Cemetery in Mercer County. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Vicki\'s favorite and most loved charity; St. Jude\'s Children\'s Research Hospital.
