Thomas Van Orden, 83, passed away on December 4, 2022, in Danville, KY. Thomas Van Orden was born on June 1, 1939, in West Milford, NJ, to the late Gustave Van Orden and Florence Van Orden. Thomas graduated from Butler High School in 1957 and went on to become a machinist apprentice for Phillips Lighting Corporation where he worked for 40 years in management.
Thomas married Patricia Van Orden on February 27, 1960, in New Jersey. The couple had 5 children; Thomas Van Orden Jr., Kelly Addor, Stacey Van Orden, Erin (Christian) Tipton, Megan (Franklin) Crook.
Thomas was best known for putting his family first through hard work. He enjoyed spending time with his family during gatherings and vacations to the beach. He was also known for his ability to make people laugh by telling jokes.
Thomas is survived by Patricia Van Orden; spouse, Thomas Van Orden, Jr.; son, Kelly Addor; daughter, Stacey Van Orden; daughter, Erin (Christian) Tipton; daughter, Megan (Franklin) Crook; daughter, Heather (Reuben) Maltsberger; granddaughter, Ryan Alexander; grandson, Hannah (Cameron) Burrows; granddaughter, Caitlyn Traynor; granddaughter, Garett Crook; grandson, Garett Crook; grandson, Lauren Tipton; granddaughter, Gunnar Crook; grandson, Gavin Crook; grandson, Emory Maltsberger; great-grandson, Maren Maltsberger; great-granddaughter.
In addition to his parents, Thomas is preceded in death by Audrey Mahon, sister, and Margaret Waarst, sister. He is survived by his brother, Gregory Van Orden.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, December 9, 2022, at 12:00 PM at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Danville. Father Anthony McLaughlin will be the Celebrant. Visitation will be on Thursday, December 8, 2022, at Stith Funeral Home in Danville. The burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made in Thomas\'s name to Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church.

Visitation: 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday, December 8, 2022, at Stith Funeral Home in Danville, Kentucky.
Funeral Mass: 12 p.m. on Friday, December 9, 2022, at Saint Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Danville, Kentucky.
Enjoyed Tom\’s participation in the Investment Group we were a part of for several years . I know he\’ll be missed by many family members and friends. Sincerely, Brenda Mitchell

What can we say? You were an awesome uncle and so much fun. You made me laugh every time I saw you. I love you so much and when you get to heaven – make sure you keep my mom in line. Work with Tom at Philips for several years before retiring. He was so knowledgeable about the operation of the plant and such a hard working person. He had such a great since of humor and with the job he was responsible for it was a so needed. His crew all thought he was tops and so did I. Rest peacefully Big Guy.
