Thelma Jean Lister

Thelma Jean Lister, 83, died on August 24, 2026. She was born on August 12, 1943 to the late Charles Lee and Betty Jean Daley Robertson. Thelma lived a full and vibrant life, leaving an insurmountable mark on all who knew her. Along with her parents, Thelma was predeceased by her loving husband, Bernard B. Lister; her sisters, Shirley Carter and Betty Sinkhorn; and a niece, Tina Cox.

Thelma was deeply cherished by her family, including her daughters Stacy (Dan) Muir and Dana (Scott) Coffman. Her loving spirit will continue to resonate through her grandchildren; Kristen Carrier, Kenton (Bethany) Carrier, Karson Carrier, Christopher Frondal, and Shelby Frondal-Coffman; as well as her great-grandson, Matteo Carrier. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Mark Lister, and her sister-in-law, Jerri Lister. The bonds she nurtured with each family member were a testament to her warmth and unwavering love.

Thelma was a loving and dedicated instructional assistant school nurse at Boyle County Middle School for 25 years, as well as a nurse for Ephraim McDowell Medical Health. Thelma also loved serving in her church at Calvary Baptist where she supported the children’s church and Bible School.

Thelma’s compassion and kindness extended beyond her family to friends and the community, where she was known for her generosity and support. Her legacy of love will be a guiding light for her family, who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.

In honor of Thelma’s life, funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, August 28, 2026, at Calvary Baptist Church. A visitation will be held at 4-7 p.m., Thursday, August 27, 2026 at Calvary Baptist Church. Pallbearers include Kenton Carrier, Karson Carrier, Christopher Frondal, Charlie Cox, Gregg Frondal, and Chris Muir. Honorary pallbearers include Shelby Frondal-Coffman, Kristen Carrier, Donnie Coffman, Bob Muir, Mark Lister, and Tony Lister. A burial at Bellevue Cemetery will follow after her services.
