Teresa Martin passed away peacefully at home after a long illness. She was born in Hazard, Kentucky, graduated from Boyle County High School and attended the University of Kentucky’s engineering program. Teresa and Chuck wed on January 3, 1981, and have been married for 43 years. She was a homemaker, mother, wife, and artisan. Teresa was able to be a stay-at-home mom for her son Carl and take care of the animals on their farm. Teresa enjoyed being part of the Pioneer Playhouse board of directors for many years, where she looked forward to each new season. She was active with the Boyle County Homemakers and enjoyed quilting and the fabric arts. Teresa won many grand champion awards at the Kentucky State Fair for her handicraft entries. She was a highly talented artist in painting, glass works, all forms of fabric works, leather, beading, and weaving, and enjoyed teaching the 4H kids quilting and other fabric arts. Teresa loved spending time on her pontoon on Herrington Lake. Her favorite travels were to the Florida Keys and Gatlinburg. She always looked forward to the family reunions in the Eastern Kentucky mountains.

She is survived by her husband Charles “Chuck” Martin, her son Carl (Andrea) Martin, her parents Carl and Nancy Landrum, her sisters Sherri (Rod) Napier and Tammi (Mo) Geierman, and many good friends and acquaintances.

The funeral service will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, November 2, 2024, at Stith Funeral Home with visitation from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. prior to the service at Stith Funeral Home.

  9. We started our first day of school together.20 years later you picked me up and we took our 2 sweet babies to their first day of kindergarten. We cried and they laughed at us. I will miss you my dear friend.🙏🏻🩷🙏🏻.

  10. Teresa had a special soul . When I first saw her we hit it off as if we were sisters. I loved her as my little sister. She made me a beautiful wedding dress and did all the extra things so I could marry her Uncle! That’s Teresa! She was the most beautiful, talented and giving person I’ve ever known!   11. Whenever I think of Teresa, I think of how giving and gifted she was. She loved her family deeply and was always gracious to extend that love to her friends as well.

    I will always remember her smile and loving spirit.
