Sandra Kay Lockhart King, 70, died Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at her residence. Born August 27, 1949 in Danville, Kentucky, she was daughter of the late Carmi and Sarah Enid Marie Knupp Lockhart. She graduated from Boyle County High School and earned her accounting degree at National College of Business. She was the widow of Bobby King and attended Pleasant Run Baptist Church. She was a gardener and a talented crafter. She loved to watch birds and lined her driveway with birdhouses and she never wanted to see a tree cut down. Her family was most important to her and she especially enjoyed vacations with them. In addition to her husband and parents, she is predeceased by her sister, Priscilla Burdette and brother, John Lockhart. She is survived by her son, Bobby (Bridget) King II of Stanford, Kentucky; daughter, Wendy Thompson of Junction City, Kentucky; sister, Patricia Lockhart; five grandchildren, Rockland Thompson, Elijah Thompson, Spincer King, Mason Roberts, William King; and one great-grandchild, Isla Thompson. Visitation will be held from 5 – 8 p.m., Monday, August 24, 2020 at Stith Funeral Home, Junction City. The Funeral Service will be 1 p.m., Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at Stith Funeral Home, Junction City. Rev. Leland Lockhart will officiate. Burial will follow at Lockhart Family Cemetery. Pallbearers are Rockland Thompson, Elijah Thompson, Spincer King, Mason Roberts, Bobby King, Mike Taylor, Scott Blackburn, and Rowdy King. Honorary Pallbearers are Connie Molen, Mary Frances Walker, Betty Cotton, Portia Belcher, Sheila Wells, Dana Smoot, Monica Shuffett, Robin Cunningham, and Phyllis Rhodes. Sandy was a very special loving Lady She and her Family Lived close to us fir yrs she was so kind to us children she loved my lil brother and I thought it was so cool that her husband loved racing and we watched him many Friday nights doing just that. Sandy was a Beautiful person inside and out she will be missed in our community My prayers are with you all in the days ahead .
