Ruth Naomi Young, 96 of Junction City passed away peacefully on January 16, 2024,. She was born on December 15, 1927, in Danville to the late Major and Maggie Mae McKee. Along with her parents she is predeceased by her husband Robert Young and daughter Linda Daugherty.
Ruth led a life filled with love, kindness, and dedication to her family and faith.
She is a cherished member of the Gethsemane Baptist Church, and retired quality control professional from Phillip\'s Lighting, where she worked for 38 years.
Ruth is survived by her son, Robbie K. Young, and her adoring grandsons, Joshua Young and Daniel Jordan \"DJ\" Daugherty, and her son-in-law Danny Daugherty. She will be fondly remembered by her family, friends, and community for her warm spirit and unwavering commitment to those she loved.
The funeral service will be 1 p.m., Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at Gethsemane Baptist Church, with Bro. Doug Lester officiating. Prior to the service, a visitation will take place from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. at the church. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery.
Ruth\'s presence will be greatly missed, but her legacy of love and faith will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Her warm smile, compassionate nature, and unwavering devotion to her family and community will forever be cherished.
