Russell Leslie Wilson, 75, died Thursday, August 8, 2019 at U.K. Medical Center in Lexington. He was born in Lincoln County on May 19, 1944 to the late Calvert and Dora Saylor Wilson. He worked for Alltech as a shipping and receiving clerk and attended First Church of the Nazarene in Lancaster, Kentucky. He enjoyed family gatherings, traveling and storytelling. Russell loved God, family and America. He was a proud Vietnam Veteran and the fact that he served his country for the freedom of U.S. citizens as a member of the U.S. Navy. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his wife, Sibbie Ellen Trent Wilson; two sisters, Florence Wilson, Wanda Smith; three brothers, Alfred, Harold and Raymond Wilson.
He is survived by a son, Les ( Heather) Wilson of Parksville; three daughters, Barbara Robbins of Parksville, Rebecca (Billy) Abell of Harrodsburg, Kay (Tony) Osborne of Lancaster; a sister, Clara Brown of Florida; thirteen grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; beloved friend, like a son, Joe Foley of Harrodsburg and several nieces and nephew.
The funeral service will be 1 p.m., Friday, August 16, 2019 at Stith Funeral Home in Junction City. Bro. Mel Young and Bro. Norm Smith will officiate. Pallbearers will be Tyler Trent, Michael Robbins, Billy Abell, Zak Wilson, Ricky Martin, Chanse Murphy and Mac Abell. Burial will be in Junction City Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 p.m. – 9 p.m., Thursday, August 15, 2019 at the funeral home in Junction City. Memorial donations are suggested to Stith Funeral Home.

We all know this time comes, however it doesn’t make it any easier. I am blessed to have someone as special as you were to call dad, “pap”, you did and always will hold a special place in my heart, and I appreciate everything you done for me! Love you pap.
Russell, we are so thankful that we met you and sibbie. You both meant alot to both of us. Thank you for being an amazing, supportive, loving papaw for Madisyn and Zak. Thank you for always sharing stories and laughs and giving the kids such wonderful memories. You will be missed.
