Roy Lee Gilbert, 63, died Monday, May 7, 2018.  He was born in Boyle County on October 19, 1954 to the late Cecil and Thelma Peters Gilbert.  Roy was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend.  He liked fishing, dirt track races, food and loved to make up songs about people.  In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by a son, Jeffery Lancaster and a brother, Cecil Hardin.   He is survived by his wife, Margaret Gilbert of Danville; a son, Anthony (Beth) Belcher of Danville; three daughters, Beverly (Heath) Thornsberry of Stanford, Janice Simpson of Alabama, Helen Biggs of Adair County; five brothers, Bobby Joe (Beverly) Gilbert of Harrodsburg, Danny Wayne (Kim) Gilbert of Nicholasville, LeeRoy (Cheryl) Hardin, Toby (India) Hardin and Shelby (Rhonda) Hardin all of Boyle County; a sister Helen (Eddie) Collins of Versailles; fourteen grandchildren, James Crowe, Austin Crowe, Westen Lancaster, Honor Lancaster, Valor Lancaster, Hunter Biggs, Andrew Belcher, Cayley Thornsberry, Dianna Goode, Bentley “RooRoo” Lancaster, Madison Belcher, Morgan Belcher, Lacey Lovejoy, Gracie King; two great-grandchildren, Heather Goode and Dakota Goode.   A memorial service will be held at his home at a later date. There will be a memorial service at a later date at his home.
