Rodney Lee Rice, 64, died February 25, 2021 in Danville, Kentucky. Born June 15, 1956 in Danville, he was the son of Marlene Rice (Clarence) Roller and the late Eddie Rice. In his early adulthood, Rodney worked for Western Kentucky Gas (now Atmos) and turned his passion for cars into a lifelong career, as a car salesman and wholesaler. His biggest passion however, was his family and friends. Rodney never met a stranger and left an impression on everyone he encountered. He lived life to the fullest, and loved making memories. Some of his fondest included summers at lake Cumberland, riding horses, going to concerts, nascar races, and traveling. In addition to his father, Rodney is predeceased by two brothers, Scott Rice and Charles Rice.
He is survived by two daughters, Lee Ann (Jeremy) Shepherd and Lori Rice; two sisters, Gladys (Danny) Reed and Kristy (Dwaine) Green; a brother, Joel (Karen) Rice; two grandchildren, Hayden Shepherd and Halee Shepherd, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
At Rodney’s wish and request, in lieu of a formal service, a celebration of life will be held at a future date for all family and friends.

Guestbook

  1. Our sympathy to you, Lori, Lee Ann and the whole family. We have so many good memories of times spent with Rodney and you guys. He was a great person and will be missed by all of us. Blessings and prayers to you guys. Love Mary and Keith

  2. Rodney was my student at McKinney High School where he was always a delight to have in class.—-cheerful , kind, and cooperative. Although I had not seen him since those long ago HS days, he contacted me on Facebook a few years ago , and I found him to be the same good guy I remembered. Rodney’s passing is a great loss, and I’m praying that God will comfort and strengthen his family and friends in the days to come.

  3. Rodney to say that you will missed is an understatement.. always so kind and polite . A great friend . Love you Rodney . Lots of prayers for the family during this difficult time
