On Monday, November 2, 2020, Roberta Lynn Bauer Wheat, wife, mother, daughter and sister, passed away at the age of 47 years. She was born in Newark, Ohio on August 8, 1973, daughter of Richard Lee and Marian Elaine Durig Bauer. Roberta was a 1992 graduate of Danville High School and attended Grace Presbyterian Church. Her children and grandchild were the pride and joy of her life. She loved her husband and family. Roberta was a kind and gentle person who loved spending time with family and friends. She had a loving, caring, forgiving and kind spirit. Roberta loved helping and taking care of people even during her illness. She was so grateful and merciful, and she loved her Centre College family. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Frederick Lee Wheat; two sons, Christopher Porter (Sylvia Ping), Jeremiah Lee Wheat; her daughter, Amber Leanne Wheat; a brother, Tom Bauer (Lynn); two sisters, Tracie Aldridge (James), Jennifer Pittman (Charlie) and her granddaughter, Jade Marie Porter. The funeral service will be at 1pm, Saturday, November 7, 2020 at Grace Presbyterian Church in Danville. Rev. Shane Terrell will officiate. Pallbearers will be Christopher Porter, Jeremiah Wheat, Johnny Walker, Tom Bauer, Jim Aldridge, Eli Aldridge, Carl Bauer and Daniel Bartleson. Honorary pallbearers will be Centre College Football Team. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery. Visitation will be 11am – 1pm, prior to the service on Saturday, November 7, 2020.   10. My heartfelt condolences to Roberta’s family. I was very sorry to hear of her passing. I went to high school with Roberta and still remember her kind spirit almost 30 years later. My dad also spoke highly of her generosity and friendly disposition at Centre. Keeping your family in our thoughts and prayers. -Katy
