Robbie Young

Robbie Kenneth Young, 71, of Junction City, Kentucky, died peacefully May 10, 202,5 at home. Robbie was born on July 16, 1953, in Danville, Kentucky, to the late Robert and Ruth McKee Young, and he spent his life surrounded by family and friends who cherished him deeply. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Gail Young, and his sister Linda Daugherty.

Robbie dedicated his career as a line operator in the manufacturing industry, having worked long and faithfully for Whirlpool/Matsushita. He was known for his strong work ethic and the dedication he brought to his role.

An avid reader and a lover of westerns, Robbie found joy in the stories that took him on adventures beyond his everyday life. His faith was an integral part of who he was; he was formerly active in his church community and took immense pride in teaching Sunday School at Cornerstone Assembly of God.

Robbie is survived by his son, Joshua A. Young; his step-son, Dewayne Taylor; his brother-in-law, Danny Daugherty;  and his nephew, Daniel Jordan “DJ” Daugherty. Through his kindness, wisdom, and care, he leaves behind a legacy that will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A visitation will be 12 pm – 2 pm, Friday, May 16, 2025, at Stith Funeral Home in Junction City, followed by a graveside service at Junction City Cemetery at 2 pm, with Rev. Doug Lester sharing prayers. All who knew Robbie are invited to come and celebrate his life, honor his memory, and share in the love he spread during his time with us.

Memorial donations are suggested to the Danville-Boyle Co. Public Library
