Richard Irvin Betz Jr.

Richard Irvin Betz Jr., 65, died peacefully on November 1, 2024. Born on June 15, 1959, in Lexington, Kentucky to the late Richard and Helen Price Betz, Sr. Richard “Rick” was known for his loving and kind heart, which touched the lives of all who knew him.

Although Rick faced struggles due to disability, he never let it diminish his spirit or determination. He was a source of inspiration and strength to those around him, always showing compassion and empathy towards others.

He is survived by his sisters, Gail Manning of Danville and Bettye Jo (Tom) Isherwood of Lexington, nephews, Maurice Manning of Springfield, Nathan (Sophie) Isherwood of Chicago, nieces, Sara Katherine (Tom) Manning-Beavin of Morehead, Meredith (Greg) Schroeder of Independence, two great-nephews and five great-nieces.  In addition, Rick is survived by his loving family and staff at Family Ties.

The family thanks Dr. Virginia Purdom, the ER staff at Ephraim McDowell Hospital, and Boyle and Lincoln County EMS.

A memorial service will be held graveside at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 16, 2024, at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Lexington.  Memorial donations may be made to SPAN Parent Advocacy Network.
