S. Ray Hudman, peacefully passed away on November 23, 2023 in Danville, KY. Born on July 24, 1937, in Idaho Falls, ID, Ray lived a life filled with kindness, love, and a profound dedication to his family.
Ray\'s journey began in Idaho Falls, where he was raised with a strong sense of family values and a deep connection to his community. After graduating from high school, he embarked on a successful career, dedicating over three decades of his life to IBM.
Outside of his professional life, Ray had an unwavering devotion to his faith as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He found solace and strength in his spiritual beliefs, actively participating in church activities and serving his congregation. Ray was known to be a source of compassion and support for his fellow church members.
Ray had a profound passion for genealogy, diligently tracing his family\'s roots and preserving their heritage for future generations. His commitment to preserving family history was a true testament to his love for his family and his desire to connect with his roots. He is predeceased by his wife Marlene Louise Hudman.
Above all, Ray cherished his role as a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He loved his wife and was a constant source of support and comfort throughout their journey together. Ray\'s children, Laura, Bruce, Linda, Glen, and Darren, his grandchildren and great grandchildren were the pride and joy of his life. He took immense joy in witnessing their accomplishments and was always there to offer guidance and encouragement.
Having served his country with honor, Ray was a proud veteran of the Army. Enlisting on July 27, 1955, and achieving the rank of SP5, he dedicated eight years of his life to serving and protecting his fellow countrymen. Ray\'s commitment and sacrifice will forever be remembered and appreciated.
Ray will be laid to rest with his wife Marlene in Murray City Cemetery. As we bid farewell to Ray, let us remember the impact he had on our lives, the love he shared, and the compassion he embodied.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to Heritage Hospice.
