Peggy Ann Galloway was born on February 23, 1934, in Danville, Kentucky to Alpha Mae Mullins of Pike County, Kentucky and Dennie Selby of Casey County, Kentucky. Peggy attended Maple Avenue Grade School and Danville High School. She was married for 54 years to Perryville, Kentucky native Glenn Galloway in 1952. Glen preceded her in death in 2006. Peggy is survived by her children, Debra Gail Galloway (Richard Fisher) of Bardstown, Kentucky and David Glenn Galloway of Franklin, Tennessee. Also surviving are Peggy’s grandchildren, Megan Shepherd of Dayton, Ohio; Anna Shepherd-Coulter (John Coulter) of Bardstown, Kentucky; and Erin Rose Shepherd-Goldberg (Jeremy Goldberg) of Danville, Kentucky. Peggy is also survived by her great-grandchildren Silas Joseph Shepherd of Cincinnati, Ohio; Molly Ann Shepherd of Bardstown, Kentucky; Jacob Elias Shepherd of Danville, Kentucky; and John Samuel Coulter of Bardstown, Kentucky. She is also survived by her brother Bennie Joseph Selby (Margie) of Danville. Peggy is predeceased by her sister, Sue Carol Selby Hale. Peggy was a charter member of Gethsemane Baptist Church in Danville, Kentucky, serving as a Sunday School teacher and Women’s Missionary Union President. She was a member of the Saint Asaph Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, The Kentucky Historical Society, and the Virginia Historical Society. Peggy also served as the President of the Boyle County Genealogical Society and co-authored “Marriage Bonds of Boyle County, Kentucky”. She worked for Kentucky Utilities of Danville until her retirement. Peggy was passionate about genealogy and traveled widely, as far as Salt Lake City, Utah, to research her and Glenn’s family history, and she shared this knowledge with her family. Peggy also provided genealogical services to others who wanted to know more about their family histories. In addition, Peggy loved history, reading, attending church, drawing, shopping, and singing. Peggy loved spending time with her family and hosting family gatherings on holidays and birthdays. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Friday, September 29, 2023, at Stith Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 4 - 6 p.m., Thursday, September 28, 2023, at Stith Funeral Home, Danville. Peggy is to be buried at the Bellevue National Cemetery in Danville, Kentucky alongside her husband Glenn. Memorial donations are suggested to the Alzheimer\'s Association https://www.alz.org/ Visitation: 4pm - 6pm, Thursday, September 28, 2023, at Stith Funeral Home, Danville. Service: 11am, Friday, September 29, 2023, at Stith Funeral Home, Danville. Burial: Bellevue Cemetery
