Paulette Renée Chambers Wilson Hargis, 70, died Friday, October 25, 2019 following a long illness. Born August 24, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Cebert Stanley and Josie Sue Wilkerson Chambers. Paulette was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church. She loved the Lord and loved to teach Sunday school and lead the Awana Kids during the Wednesday night programs. Paulette was a 1967 graduate of Boyle County High School and earned her Associate of Arts Degree in Commerce at Midway Junior College, Midway, Ky. She was the Corporate Secretary-Treasurer, Office Manager and Export Manager at Phillips Lumber Co. from 1976 to 1991. While at Phillips she enjoyed traveling abroad on business trips and was honored by the trust and responsibilities conferred to her by the owners. In August of 1992, she became the Business Accounting Manager at Owens Chevrolet until January of 1998. She loved her work especially the diversity of her duties. She also worked for Kerbaugh and Rodes, CPA for several years. Paulette was a gardener with a green thumb. She loved her flowers and all of nature. Whether she was at the ocean, at the beach or in her own back yard, she loved being on or near the water. She loved to dance and was an excellent cook and enjoyed sharing her talent with all friends and family. She always made sure everyone remembered that she was only 28 years old. Paulette was predeceased by a brother, John Chambers and two sisters, Frances Stevens and Barbara Short. She is survived by her husband, of 25 years, Billy L. Hargis; her children, Jessica Wilson (Jason) Bird of Stanford, Jeremy L. Wilson of Winchester, Billy L. Hargis, Jr. of Harrodsburg and Todd (Jill) Hargis of Georgetown; a sister, Carol Warren and ten grandchildren, Izabella Walker, Jordan (Devin) Burchfield, Taylor Bird, Micah Bird, Joey Bird, Lynni Bird, Ace Wilson, Jackson Hargis, Ella Hargis and Caid Hargis. Her funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Thursday October 31, 2019 at Gethsemane Baptist Church. Rev. Tim Mathis will officiate. Burial will be in Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jim Cunningham, Benny Myers, Micah Bird, Barry Harmon, Dale Allen, Matt Finley, Craig Bell, Jason Bird and Vola Mosley. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. - 8 p.m., Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at Gethsemane Baptist Church. Memorial contributions are suggested to Heritage Hospice or the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
