Patsy Ruth Huff Downey, 83, died Tuesday, March 6, 2018. Born in Lincoln, Illinois on August 8, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Wilbur and Marie Lilly Schoff. Huff. She graduated from Danville High School and attended Midway College. Patsy worked in Quality Control Department for American Greetings. She loved to travel, especially with her grandchildren. She enjoyed shopping and scrapbooking. She was predeceased by her husband, Flournoy “Jack” Downey; her daughter, Vivian Eades, a brother, Jimmy Sisson and a great-granddaughter, Rylie Z’Anne Vonlinger.
Patsy is survived by a son, Richard (Joella) Downey of Harrodsburg; a brother, Bobby Huff; three grandchildren, Richard Eric (Kim) Downey, Amy Susan (Wayne) Vonlinger, Patsy Morgan Eads and four great grandchildren, Lukas Eads, Jared Downey, Abigail “Abby” Downey and Zayne Vonlinger.
The funeral service will be 1 p.m., Monday, March 12, 2018, at Stith Funeral Home in Danville. Rev. Christie Sisson York will officiate. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Richard Young, Dale Cox, Matthew Ellis, Darrell Bryant, Eric Downey, Kenneth Eades and Wayne Vonlinger. Visitation will be Monday 11 a.m.-1 p.m. prior to the service at 1 p.m. Memorial donations are suggested to the American Heart Association.
