Opal Ruth Eversole Douglas, 73, of Junction City, Kentucky, died Monday, February 27, 2023. She was born May 10, 1949, to the late Louise Price Phillips in Hazard, Kentucky. She was a 1967 graduate of Boyle County High School. Opal was the wife of the late Leroy Douglas. She worked as a seamstress at Palm Beach with employment also at Matsushita and Dollar General in Junction City. Although Opal was a hard worker, Opal found enjoyment playing cornhole, working puzzle books, board games and she was known for her sewing abilities, namely for clothes and pageant dresses. Games and activities with her grandchildren brought Opal great joy and she is notably “the best grandma ever”.  She was of the Baptist Faith and was a member of Shelby City First Baptist Church in Junction City. Opal is predeceased by her husband; daughter, Tina Louise Eversole Watson; and grandson, Christopher Norton. Survivors include children, Timothy Morgan (Debbie) Douglas; daughter, Tonja Eversole; brother, Paul Ray (Sheary) Eversole; and sister, Lillie Marie (Roy) White. Survivors also include grandchildren, Michael Brandon Douglas, Paul Ray Douglas, Tamara Douglas, ShaKari Danielle Johnson, Kaelyn Baughman, Bailee Madison Watson and Bradley Matthew Watson; great-grandchildren, Riley Douglas, Timothy Aaron Evans Jr., Kae`Lani Brielle Evans and Haelyn Mae Graves; son-in-law, Charles Watson; and best friend for over sixty years, Thelma Price. Serving as Active Pallbearers are ShaKari Johnson, Bailee Watson, Will Hogue, Chad Douglas, Bradley Watson, Michael \"Red\" Sinkhorn and Kaelyn Baughman. Honorary Pallbearers are James William Wilson, Teddy Mills and Roy White. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, March 4, 2023, at Stith Funeral Home, Junction City. The service will begin following the visitation at 1 p.m.  The burial will take place at Junction City Cemetery.   1. Tonya I am so very sorry for your loss. As you know Opal and I went way back to when you and Missy were children. She told me how much she loved you . Love you Pat.

  2. A couple things that will forever be with me when it comes to Opal Ruth is that she always made me smile and I always got a good happy laugh at the way she would try and not have her picture taken, she will be missed and she sure was loved, see you on the other side cuz
