Opal Myrtle Brown-Rogers, 90, of Junction City, Kentucky, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at Fort Logan Hospital in Stanford, Kentucky.  The late Lorenza “Lee” and Roxie Myrtle Godby Loveless welcomed their daughter, Opal, on March 22, 1932, in Eubank, Kentucky. She was a member of a large loving household and took pleasure in all things family. Early on, Opal became employed at Wallace’s Restaurant in Eubank before working at The Hub Department Store in Danville for a short time. Following The Hub, she became a valued and dedicated employee at Grider Pharmacy as a cashier and retired after 34 years. Opal’s faith was very important to her, and she became a member of First Baptist Church in Danville. Opal is predeceased by her parents; five brothers, Edgar, Alford, Chester “Check”, Charles and Lawrence “Matt” Loveless; four sisters, Dorothy Loveless Lewis, Fay Loveless Gooch, Beulah Loveless Eaton and Janet “Jenny” Loveless Singleton. She is also predeceased by her late husbands, Tyndale H. Brown and Wince Rogers; and late daughter, Terri Lee Black, all of whom she adored. Opal is survived by daughter, Vickie (Charles) Thompson; brother, Robert (Roxie) Loveless; grandchildren, Tanya Brown, Bobby (Sara) Brown and Benjamin Black; granddaughters, Dorothy “Dot” Kerr and Kathy Wells; great-grandchildren, Sean Hall, Eric Hall and Lana Brown, Shelby Kerr, Colby Kerr, Taylor Wells, Rebecca Wells and Nicholas Wells; great-great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Wells, Sophia Wells, Hadleigh Jean, Myah Wells and Waylen Wells. Survivors also include stepdaughter, Wanda Bugg; stepson, Jerry (Shirley) Rogers; step-granddaughters, Cindy Rogers and Stefanie (Mike) Cocanougher; step-grandson, Terry Bugg; step-great granddaughter, Alexis (Weston) Martt; step-great grandson, Clay (Allison) Cocanougher; and step-great-great grandchildren, Gentry Martt and Barrett Martt. A memorial visitation for Opal Myrtle Brown-Rogers will be 2 p.m. – 4 p.m., Monday, February 6, 2023, at Stith Funeral Home, Danville, Kentucky.
